Mamma Mia! – Another exclamation point musical comes to town! Opens Tuesday January 26 at 7:00! Closes January 31! Durham Performing Arts Center!

Reefer Madness – Musical comedy version of the 1936 cautionary movie, presented by Duke’s Hoof ‘n’ Horn. This weekend: Thursday-Friday 8:00, Saturday 4:20 (!) and 9:00, Sunday 2:00. Continues through January 31. Sheafer Theater, Bryan Center, Duke West Campus, Durham.


Prelude to a Kiss – Craig Lucas’ late 20th century comic fantasy, presented by Ghost & Spice Productions. This weekend: Thursday-Saturday 8:00. Closes January 23. Common Ground Theatre, Durham.


Strange Beauty Film Festival – SPENDY Productions presents a showcase of 46 adventurous and striking short films from around the world, plus a special presentation by Tom Whiteside’s Durham Cinematheque. Shown in three blocks over two days: Friday 8:15, Saturday 2:00 and 8:15. Manbites Dog Theater, Durham.
