These high wild hills and rough uneven ways
Draws out our miles, and makes them wearisome,
And yet your fair discourse hath been as sugar,
Making the hard way sweet and delectable.

Raleigh’s Krispy Kreme Challenge returns this Saturday with the sixth annual running of this simple but daunting athletic event.
Beginning at the NC State Bell Tower, each participant:
- runs 2 miles to the Krispy Kreme store on Peace Street
- scarfs down a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts
- runs the 2 miles back to the Bell Tower
- all in one hour.
If this sounds like your kind of run, but you haven’t already registered – sorry, you’re out of luck; the 6,000 available slots filled up over a week ago. If you just want to cheer on the sugar-buzzed runners, you can still buy a K2C supporter t-shirt at the website or at the event. It’s for a good cause: the K2C donates all proceeds to the Children’s Hospital of North Carolina.
(And if you miss this year’s K2C, Durham’s own team relay quadrathlon/eating competition, The Doughman is coming up on May 29.)
