Body Awareness – Deep Dish Theater’s production of the Annie Baker comedy. This weekend: Wednesday-Thursday 7:30, Friday-Saturday 8:00, Sunday 2:00. Continues through May 22. Deep Dish Theater, Chapel Hill.

South Pacific – Rodgers and Hammerstein’s 1949 musical. This weekend: Thursday 2:00 and 7:00, Friday-Saturday 8:00, Sunday 2:00. Continues through May 16. Temple Theatre, Sanford.

Dark Play or Stories for Boys – Carlos Murillos’ very dark comedy about virtual identities, presented by Raleigh Ensemble Players. This weekend: Thursday-Saturday 8:00. Future performances TBA. REP Upstairs Studio, Raleigh.

Wicked – The blockbuster musical tells a revisionist history of the Land of Oz. This weekend: Wednesday and Thursday 7:30, Friday 8:00, Saturday 2:00 and 8:00, Sunday 1:00 and 6:30, Tuesday 7:00. Continues through May 16. Durham Performing Arts Center.

    How about a new, never-before-seen musical drama that features love, sex, treachery, The Goddess, belly dancers, redemptions, salvation, and ancient politics (which aren’t so ancient if you watch the news…)
