10 by 10 in the Triangle – The ArtCenter’s popular annual festival of ten-minute plays returns. This week: Friday and Saturday 8:00, Sunday 3:00. Continues through July 22. The ArtsCenter, Carrboro.

Politheatrics – Burning Coal hosts a festival of devised theater, featuring works by seven companies: Haymaker (Durham), force/collision (Washington, DC), Neutral Ground Ensemble (New Orleans), Awkward Elephant (Pittsburgh), Urban Garden (Raleigh), Machine Theatre (Charlotte); plus a workshop on devised theater led by Anna Jones (London/New York). This weekend: Thursday-Sunday various times (see schedule). Closes Sunday. Murphey School Auditorium, Raleigh.

Torry Bend is looking for 5 talented puppeteers or actor/dancers with interest in puppeteering, for a fall remount and potential 2013 tour of her 2011 show, The Paper Hat Game.
