Invisible Earth – Paperhand Puppet Intervention returns with its annual family friendly end of summer outdoor extravaganza, this time “a paradoxical pageant of hope, impending doom and planetary possibilities” featuring masks, stilt walkers, and a puppetized cast of goats, chickens, pigs and trilobites. Original music composed by Ari Picker (of Lost in the Trees). This week: Friday-Sunday 7:00 (pre-show at 6:20). Continues through September 8, Forest Theatre, UNC Campus, Chapel Hill. (Plus September 13-15 performances at the NC Museum of Art, Raleigh).
* Urinetown Don’t be the bunny! Theatre Raleigh’s nothing if not eclectic summer season continues with the 2001 musical satire/Brechtian pastiche by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis. Directed by Richard Roland. This week only: Tuesday-Friday 8:00, Saturday 2:00 and 8:00,Sunday 3:00. Closes Sunday. Fletcher Theatre, DECPA, Raleigh.
