* Hold These Truths – True story of Gordon Hirabayashi, who took the US Government to court during World War II over its interment of Japanese Americans. I Never Saw Another Butterfly: The Musical – NRACT presents a stage musical version of Celeste Raspanti’s play, based on art and poetry created by children in a Nazi concentration camp. Directed by Tanner Lagasca, Music Director: Craig Johnson. This week: Friday and Saturday 7:00, Sunday 3:00. Continues through May 11. NRACT, Lead Mine Road, Raleigh.

Pageant – An all male cast portrays beauty pageant contestants in Theatre in the Park’s production of the 1991 musical comedy by Bill Russell, Frank Kelly, and Albert Evans. Directed by Ira David Wood IV; Music Director Scott McKenzie. This week: Friday and Saturday 7:30, Sunday 3:00. Continues through May 11. TIP, Raleigh.

Spirits to Enforce – To the phone banks! Twelve superheroes face a challenge of Shakespearian proportions in the 2003 play by Mickle Maher. Directed by Jeff Storer. Presented by Manbites Dog Theater. This week: Thursday-Saturday 8:15. Continues through May 10. MDT, Durham.

* The Diary of Anne Frank – A family goes into hiding during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Abdelfattah Abusrour directs the 1955 Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett stage adaptation. Presented by Burning Coal Theatre. This week: Thursday and Friday 7:30, Saturday 2:00 and 7:30, Sunday 2:00. Closes Sunday. Burning Coal, Murphey School, Raleigh.

Pinnochio – Musical version of Carlo Collodi’s 19th century story about an anthropomorphic action figure. Directed by Linda O’Day Young. Presented by Raleigh Little Theatre. This week: Thursday and Friday 7:30, Saturday and Sunday 1:00 and 5:00. Continues through May 4. Sutton Theatre, RLT, Raleigh.
