* Everscape – Four players find the lines blurring between an online game and reality. A new work by Raleigh playwright Allan Maule, premiering in the New York International Fringe Festival. Behind the Boots – Devised theater by eleven female artists on themes inspired by Wonder Woman. Presented by Summer Sisters and Common Ground Theatre. This weekend only: Thursday-Saturday 8:00.

* Carousel: A Concert – Concert performance of the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, featuring the Barton College/Wilson Symphony Orchestra. Presented by Theatre Raleigh/Hot Summer Nights. This week only: Thursday-Saturday 8:00, Sunday 3:00. Closes Sunday. Fletcher Theater, DECPA, Raleigh.

Monty Python’s Spamalot – Raleigh Little Theate presents Eric Idle and John Du Prez’ 2005 musical adaptation of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Directed by Patrick Torres. This week: Friday and Saturday 8:00, Sunday 3:00. Continues through September 20. Sutton Theatre, RLT, Raleigh.

* Uncle Ho to Uncle Sam – Autobiographical solo show performed by Trieu Tran about a Vietnamese family escaping to America at the end of the Vietnam war. Written by Trieu Tran with Robert Egan. Presented by PRC2. This week only: Wednesday-Saturday 7:30, Sunday 2:00 and 7:30. Closes Sunday. Kenan Theatre, UNC Campus, Chapel Hill.


Annapurna – A reclusive writer is visited by his ex-wife for the first time in 20 years. Sharr White’s 2011 drama is staged by Honest Pint Theatre Company and NRACT, and directed by Dana Marks. A Drop in the Bucket: The Big Dreams of Tiny Things – Paperhand Puppet Intervention presents their latest annual family-friendly outdoor giant puppet extravaganza. This week: Friday-Saturday 7:00, Sunday 3:00 and 7:00. Pre-show each night featuring local musicians).
