ONGOING:

Are You Lonesome Tonight? – The world’s number one Elvis fan takes you on a final tour of his home/museum/shrine to the King. Solo show written and performed by Shelby Hahn. Directed by Jaybird O’Berski, presented by Little Green Pig. (Performances are standing room only and last about an hour, wear comfy shoes. Tickets are free but must be reserved.) This week: Thursday and Friday shows cancelled due to weather. Saturday show is currently planned to go on as scheduled (but recheck with them at the end of this week): Saturday 8:00, Culture Mill Lab, 1616 Jordan Drive, Saxapahaw. Continues through September 26 at various locations.

In the Heart of the Fire – In their 19th annual giant puppet performance for all ages, Paperhand Puppet Intervention presents tales of fire, of giants and trolls, of trickster creators, and how we came to be human. This weekend’s shows at the NC Museum of Art have been cancelled due to hurricane. Continues September 14-23 at Forest Theatre, UNC Campus, Chapel Hill.

Once – Theatre Raleigh presents the 2011 musical based on the 2007 film about two Dublin musicians who meet by chance. Director not listed. Note: AWC. This week: Current plans are to perform this week’s Wednesday night show as scheduled. All other performances this weekend have been rescheduled to next weekend. Kennedy Theatre, DECPA, Raleigh.

Open Doors – Sonorous Road presents its third annual festival of short plays, featuring 10 works by North Carolina playwrights.
