Go Back for Murder – University Theatre presents TheatreFest 2019, featuring two summer entertainments. First up, an Agatha Christie mystery in which a woman tries to posthumously exonerate her mother for her father’s murder. Directed by Mia Self. This week: Thursday-Saturday 7:30, Sunday 2:00. * Helvetica – An author of children’s books attempts to come to terms with her life, in Will Coleman’s 2016 drama. Directed by Grant Lyerly and Skye Pham. Presented by One Song Productions. This week only: Friday and Saturday 7:30, Sunday 3:00. The ArtsCenter, Carrboro.

Pippin – Raleigh Little Theatre presents the 1972 Stephen Schwartz and Roger O. Hirson musical about a young prince who joins a traveling theater troupe. Directed by Patrick Torres. This week: Friday and Saturday 8:00, Sunday 3:00. Continues through June 16. Sutton Theatre, RLT, Raleigh.

* Sitting Pretty – Odyssey Stage presents a “live radio” play, based on the 1948 Clifton Webb movie and subsequent 1949 radio adaptation about a family who discover their newly-hired nanny is a snobbish gentleman who detests children. Director not listed. (Note: AWC.) This week only: Saturday 8:00, Sunday 3:00. The ArtsCenter, Carrboro.


* The Legend of Georgia McBride – A struggling Elvis impersonator revitalizes his career when he takes on a new stage persona as a drag queen. Honest Pint Theatre presents Matthew Lopez’s 2015 comedy, directed by Susannah Hough. This week: Friday and Saturday 7:30, Sunday 2:00. Closes Sunday. Leggett Theatre, Peace University Campus, Raleigh.

White – Issues of race, gender, identity, and art collide in James IJames’ 2017 satirical comedy. Directed by JaMeeka Holloway-Burrell. Presented by Bulldog Ensemble Theatre. This week: Thursday 7:30, Friday and Saturday 8:00. Continues through June 9. The Fruit, 305 South Dillard Street, Durham.
