Julius Caesar – When a charismatic but flawed leader’s actions threaten the Republic, a group of had-it-up-to-here Senators decide to take drastic action – only to encounter the law of unintended consequences. PlayMakers Rep present Shakespeare’s classic political drama, directed by Andrew Borba. This week: Wednesday-Saturday 7:30, Sunday 2:00. Continues through March 22. * Raissoneur – In Monèt Noelle Marshall’s new play within a play-whodunit-performance piece, a Black actor just trying to do her show discovers the script has changed. Free public staged reading as part of the Let Her Tell It Series, produced by JaMeeka Holloway-Burrell and Erin Bell. One show: Saturday 8:00 (doors open at 7:30). Venus in Fur – A playwright adapting Leopold von Sacher-Masoch’s 19th century novel, finds himself beguiled by a woman auditioning for the lead role. Katie Paxton directs David Ives’ 2010 meta-comedy. Presented by Moonlight Stage Company. This week: Thursday 7:30, Friday 7:30 and 10:30, Saturday 8:00. Continues through March 14. * columbinus – A local touring production of Stephen Karam and PJ Paparelli’s 2005 play about high school alienation, hostility, and social pressure as manifested in the 1999 Columbine school shootings. Presented by Social Justice Theater; directed by Tammy Matthews. Free admission for school employees. This week: Saturday 4:00 and 7:00, Sunday 2:00 and 6:00.
