Dogfight – In 1963, the night before overseas deployment, three marines play a cruel joke on their dates, with unexpected results. NRACT presents the 2012 musical based on the 1991 film. Licked Cupcake – An original devised work about the modesty teaching of girls in the Mormon faith and the impact of religion on the journey to womanhood. Written collaboratively by the company under the direction of Johanna Maynard Edwards, with production by Loni Lyn Price, and co-conceived by Maxine Eloi, Ren Cleveland, Maggie Lea, and Cori Vella. Presented by the North Carolina Women’s Theatre Festival. This week: Thursday-Saturday 8:00, Sunday 3:00. Continues through July 23. The Woodstock Tontine – Fifty years after meeting at Woodstock, five women reunite to mourn a loss and reinvest in their friendship. The North Carolina Women’s Theatre Festival presents a new play by Chapel Hill writer Steffi Rubin. Directed by Lucia Foster. This week: Friday and Saturday 8:00, Sunday 3:00. Continues through July 16. Burning Coal Theatre, Raleigh.

Summer Sisters hosts a month of free devised theater workshops for women/female-identified folks, leading up to their September show Bad Mothers & Neglectful Wives. Workshops are held Sundays from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. on July 2, 9, 23, 30 at Manbites Dog Theater, Durham. Auditions for the show will also be held at Manbites Dog on Sunday July 16 starting at 6:30.
