* Nunsense – Dan Goggin’s 1985 comedy (perhaps the only long-running Off-Broadway hit musical based on a line of greeting cards) tells the story of the surviving nuns of the Little Sisters of Hoboken, who are staging a variety show to raise money for a burial fund. * The 39 Steps – It’s the 1930s, and an ordinary Londoner gets mixed up with a spy plot, in a comic thriller featuring four actors playing over 20 roles. This 1995 stage adaptation relies mainly on the screenplay by Charles Bennett and Ian Hay for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 film (loosely based on the 1915 John Buchan novel).
