The Woodstock Tontine – Fifty years after meeting at Woodstock, five women reunite to mourn a loss and reinvest in their friendship. The North Carolina Women’s Theatre Festival presents a new play by Chapel Hill writer Steffi Rubin. Directed by Lucia Foster. This week: Friday and Saturday 8:00, Sunday 3:00. Continues through July 16. Burning Coal Theatre, Raleigh.

ONGOING:

* Space Girl – Roller Derby! Planetarium-style light shows! Orchestral sounds of deep space! Mora V. Harris’s play tells the story of a 16-year-old lesbian alien from the planet Zlagdor struggling to fit in at high school. Presented by The Sisters Koop as the first show in the 2017 Women’s Theatre Festival. This week: Thursday-Saturday 8:00, Sunday 3:00. Closes Sunday. THEATER WORKSHOPS:

Summer Sisters hosts a month of free devised theater workshops for women/female-identified folks, leading up to their September show Bad Mothers & Neglectful Wives. Workshops are held Sundays from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. on July 2, 9, 23, 30 at Manbites Dog Theater, Durham. Auditions for the show will also be held at Manbites Dog on Sunday July 16 starting at 6:30. Space is limited; private message to RSVP to workshops or auditions, on Facebook at Summer Sisters Productions.
