Buy My Art and Call It Holy – Monét Noelle Marshall presents the concluding installment of her “Buy It Call It” trilogy, a participatory, experiential series of events over 10 days at five different locations, examining and reimagining what we call art and what we consider holy. This week:

Lady Misrule – A father in mourning for his daughter ends up at the North Pole workshop of one S. Claus. * Miracle on 34th Street: A Live Radio Play – OdysseyStage presents the radio version of the holiday movie as it was performed on Lux Radio Theatre in 1947. The program features a dozen actors, live sound effects, and 1940s music played by The Retros. * Tend To Your Own House – Black Poetry Theatre continues Flip the Script. a works-in-progress series where classic works are remixed into new pieces, integrating poetry/spoken word and music. For this iteration, the plays being sampled are all early 20th century, including works by George Bernard Shaw and Ferenc Molnar. Led by Dasan Ahanu, a group of selected community artists will work together to shape each piece of the production. Three readings of these reworked pieces will be presented followed by a talk-back, offering an opportunity for community feedback. The series will culminate with a full production built from those pieces blended into one world and one storyline. Created by Dasan Ahanu, Lee Chapman, KD Lambert, and Nakita Jay. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: The Musical – An annual presentation, this stage musical version of the Beloved Holiday Classic™ is based on the venerable 1964 Rankin/Bass animated TV Xmas special (which vastly expanded the mythology of Johnny Marks’ 1949 hit song for Gene Autry — itself based on a 1939 Christmas promotional coloring book created by Robert L. * She Loves Me – In 1930s Budapest, two shop clerks share an intense dislike for each other, unaware that they are also romantic pen pals.
