* Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years – Gayle Turner and Lakeisha Coffey portray centenarian sisters Sadie and Bessie Delany, children of a former slave, who recount their lives growing up in Raleigh during early 20th century Jim Crow, and later in New York during the Harlem renaissance. Emily Mann’s 1995 stage adaptation of Amy Hill Hearth’s 1993 true oral history is presented by NC Theatre, and directed by Tia James.
